Viking Fans, this Friday, October 25, 2019 will mark the final regular season home football game for the Vikings. It will Be Senior Night and we will be honoring Seniors of our Football, Band, Color Guard, and Cheer Members. The Senior Night ceremony will start at 6:30pm. Please plan to get there early to show your support for these outstanding student-athletes and their parents.
A couple special events for the evening will include our football Senior Walk following the game. As in the past, Coach Manstedt and the Senior boys will do a final Senior Walk following the game. They will start at the South end and walk North across the field. For this event, we invite both students and parents, regardless of the game outcome, to join the boys on the field in the North end zone to celebrate the final regular season home game and our Senior Football Players.
Additionally, The National Guard has requested to bring a non-projectile cannon to Friday nights game. It will be located in the south end zone on our high jump pit area. They are planning to fire the cannon when Waverly takes the field and on every score. They will not fire it for any extra points or field goals. The School District has worked with the City Council for a request on an exception to Chapter 4 – Health & Sanitation, Article 5 – Noise Control to accommodate Waverly’s Noise Ordinance, which was approved. If you, or you children, are sensitive to loud noises and plan to attend the game, please plan accordingly.
