GOTHENBURG DUAL WRESTLING INVITATIONAL 

Date: Saturday, January 16, 2021

Time: 10:00 A.M. CST

Site: Gothenburg High School

 

Format:       Tournament format is a 10 team scramble.  Teams will be seeded ahead of time using several different methods to get seeding as accurate as possible though never perfect.  Rounds 1 through 3 will be predetermined by seeds and rounds 4 and 5 will be based off results in the pools.  The championship dual will be the last match of the day.

Teams: Adams Central, Alliance, Broken Bow, Chadron, Colby, KS, Gering, Gothenburg, Minden, Sidney, Waverly.

Gyms: South Gym:  Mats #1 and #2;  North Gym:  Mats #3 and #4

Admission:  $6.00 Adults  $5.00 Students (K-12).  No conference or faculty passes are 

accepted.

PARTICIPATING TEAMS

  • Temperatures will be taken before departing each day and documented for all team personnel.  
  • Face coverings are required to be worn by all non-active participants.  (NSAA & Gothenburg Public Schools Requirement).
    • Required to be worn by all members on the team bench (coaches, players, managers).
  • Face coverings are required to be worn by coaches at all times. (NSAA & Gothenburg Public Schools Requirement).
  • Team Personnel are only allowed on the bench. 
    • Team members should have appropriate physical distancing on team benches.
  • Team members should have designated spaces for their personal belongings. 
  • Each athlete and coach will bring their own water bottle.  No cups or water jugs will be provided. 
    • A water bottle refill station is available in the cafeteria. 
  • No pre-game and post-game handshakes/high-fives/fist bumps. 
    • Sportsmanship can still be shown between teams without physical contact.
  • Teams are responsible for bringing their own hand sanitizer for their team.

 

SPECTATORS

 

  • ALL SPECTATORS WILL BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND UP TO OUR 50% CAPACITY LIMIT.   

 

    • All children must stay seated with their parents at all times.
  • All spectators are required to wear a face covering that covers their nose and mouth while inside the facility of Gothenburg High School.  (NSAA & Gothenburg Public Schools Requirement).
    • All individuals are expected to conduct a self-screen prior to coming to the event.
    • If you are ill, please do not attend. 
  • Each school’s administrative team is required to monitor their own fans to make sure they are wearing masks at all times and are not congregating in the hallways.
    • Any issues with fans will be the responsibility of that school’s administration.
  • Individuals must attempt to maintain an arm’s length physical distance and avoid congregating.  
  • Fans will need to sit on the bleachers designated for their school. Please sit 6 feet away from others not in your immediate family. LIMITED SEATING WILL BE AVAILABLE DUE TO DHM’s 50% CAPACITY.
    • Home Team Fans = North Side in the South Gym, South Side in the North Gym.
    • Visitor Team Fans = South Side in the South Gym, North Side in the North Gym.
  • Hand sanitizing stations will be available.

CLEANING & DISINFECTING

  • Mats will be cleaned before the start of each dual between teams.
  • Sanitary wipes and sanitizer will be available at each table.

STUDENT SECTIONS

  • Gothenburg students are allowed and must follow all COVID-19 Guidelines and Protocols.  

CHEERLEADERS

  • Not allowed at this time.

CONCESSIONS

  • Beverages will be available for purchase only from the concession stand for JV/Varsity or Varsity events only.
    • No popcorn, candy, or any other food will be available.    

ENTRANCES/EXITS

  • Spectators will enter through the doors of the Activities Entrance.
  • Face coverings are required when entering the facility.  
  • Spectators should maintain an arm’s length physical distance and avoid congregating at all times.
  • At the conclusion of the dual/meet, we ask everyone to leave the facility and not come onto the floor to congregate.  Thank you for your cooperation.
  • Spectators should not congregate in the hallways or cafeteria.

TICKET TAKERS

  • All event staff are required to wear face coverings.
  • Gloves will be worn when handling money.

EVENT PERSONNEL

  • All event staff are required to wear face coverings.  
  • Physical distancing in work areas (head table)
  • Promote physical distancing of spectators and compliance of protocols.

MEDIA

  • Media personnel are required to wear face coverings at all times.  
  • Media personnel must stay on the end of the playing floor and maintain physical distance from others that may be in attendance.  
  • NSAA media credentials are required to be on.  
    • We will accept 2019-2020 NSAA credentials and 2020/2021 NSAA Media Credentials.
  • No parents or spectators will be allowed on the ends of the floor without proper credentials.
